Youth & Family Middle School Summer Funsdcc story post
On August 16, the Mission Region of the San Diego Church of Christ hosted a congregational, end of summer Beach Blast, for all the middle school students in the church. Representing the different regions in the church, approximately 30 middle schoolers and 30 adults braved the chaos of La Jolla Shores on a beautiful, hot summer day to enjoy fellowship with one another in the park by the sand.
Everyone brought snacks and drinks to share and the parents mingled with one another in the shade while the kids played cornhole, threw footballs, boogie boarded, and swam. A scavenger hunt was set up and the middle schoolers formed 5 teams armed with a cell phone for taking pictures. 27 objects to be photographed were on the list and everyone had about an hour to comb the beach taking pictures with surfers, police, lifeguards, caught fish, waterfalls, rocks, and dolphins. The list made sure the teams searched the entire beach from south to north (about 1 mile). A team from Pomerado won the hunt with 24 items found out of 27. Congratulations!
It was a fun day at the beach for middle schoolers and adults to fellowship and get to know others from different regions of the church. Thanks to everyone who participated!
