EMPTY NESTERS NEWS

Although our Children are grown and have moved out, we are not done yet.  The Mission Region has been pioneering the Empty Nester ministry for several years now and the group continues to grow in faith and in their mission to serve God with all their hearts! What started out as a group of four has grown into a group of 40!—with both single & married members and an age range of 40-80+ years old. We meet every month for an amazing potluck dinner together & bible study. We also have 4 small group Bible studies that meet every week in homes. One focus we have has been serving the needy & we recently helped with a toy drive for needy high school students who have children. We also put on a Christmas lunch for them and their families. Another focus we are working on is to build relationships with our young marrieds and we have hosted several lunches with them. God has blessed us with much experience & wisdom that we want to pass on to the next generation!! We also have a great vision for all of our children to come to know God and we have made a prayer list of all of our group’s children & pray through it regularly. When we look around the Mission Region, it is so encouraging to see God using the Empty Nesters in so many ways, serving his people through participating in children’s ministry, working on sound equipment, ushering, making communion bread, decorating for our church service, counting contribution, and much more!! We want to serve God in greater and greater ways as we get older! Our hope is to be like Caleb who said “as my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war, to go out and to come in.” Joshua 14:10
